A tricross looks like a road bike, and is fast, but it is tougher and more robust than a road bike. I got my made-in-Canada Devinci Copenhagen performance hybrid new for $1,200 \u2013 every penny well spent. It\u2019s a nimble bike with lightning fast responses and sharp, powerful brakes \u2013 I\u2019ve never had an accident. It\u2019s also comfortable. In terms of ride, I just can\u2019t fault this bike in any way.<\/p>\n<p>I added a <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/electricbikeblog.com\/bionx-electric-bike-kit-review\/\" target=\"_blank\">BionX electric assist system<\/a><\/strong> to my bike right away, as my commute includes MASSIVE hills. I regret that I don\u2019t get to enjoy the full experience of the Devinci Copenhagen\u2019s responsive ride, because the weight of the BionX system does compromise it a bit. I am really grateful I don\u2019t have the more expensive hydraulic disk brakes, which require quite a bit of techno savvy to adjust. In two and a half years of tough commuting I have only replaced the disk pads twice, which is amazing. However, I do use my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00GIXZKP8\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B00GIXZKP8&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=avejoecyc0e-20&amp;linkId=BHBB4TB4HJBRRXWT\" target=\"_blank\">BionX electric assist system<\/a> to reduce braking.<\/p>\n<h3>Gears on the Devinci Copenhagen<\/h3>\n<p>The details of the Devinci Copenhagen gears are in the full specs below. All I can say is that they work smoothly and I really enjoy them. Also there are <strong>three cogs in the front<\/strong>, for a total of 27 gears \u2013 which means it is pretty easy to get up hills, even for people like me who are just average cyclists.<\/p>\n<h3>Frame and Fork Strength on the Devinci Copenhagen<\/h3>\n<p>I weigh 170 pounds (and when I first got it I was around 210), and I have a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00GIXZKP8\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B00GIXZKP8&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=avejoecyc0e-20&amp;linkId=BHBB4TB4HJBRRXWT\" target=\"_blank\">BionX electric assist <\/a>on the bike, which adds about 30 pounds and generates a lot of torque forces. And I add on a heavy clunky laptop, shoes, lunch, etc. when I commute to work. I carry all this in my excellent <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2cCChAJ\" target=\"_blank\">convertible backpack pannier made by Two Wheel Gear<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/averagejoecyclist.com\/two-wheel-gear-pannier-backpack-convertible-review\/\" target=\"_blank\">reviewed here<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Plus I use the bike on roads full of pot holes, as well as dirt track. And I live in a city built on subsiding land-fill, with roads that look like they were made by toddlers flinging tarmac. And I often go very fast.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>All of this torture, and the solid, strong Devinci Copenhagen frame just keeps on going.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So it\u2019s a <strong>really<\/strong> strong frame. Plus the <strong>carbon fork<\/strong> just keeps on going as well. Once in the dark I hit a pot hole so enormous that I damaged my back \u2013 but the fork was just fine. (Thanks to the <a href=\"https:\/\/averagejoecyclist.com\/sea-to-river-bike-route-burnaby\/\" target=\"_blank\">City of Burnaby\u2019s Sea to River Bike Route, reviewed here,<\/a> for the enormous pot hole. It was caused by road works, and the engineers just left a giant hole right in the middle of a major bike route for months on end &#8211; in the WINTER, which was why I did not see it as the sun was not yet up at 7.00 a.m.)<\/p>\n<h3>Bottom Line on the Devinci Copenhagen Hybrid Bike<\/h3>\n<p>To wrap up my Devinci Copenhagen hybrid bike review: this is a GREAT bike for anyone wanting a really solid, responsive and reliable commuter or tour bike.
