Never fear, this post will help! For many years I have lamented the shortage of good quality, good looking and well fitting cycling clothing for larger women. In the past I have resorted to purchasing men\u2019s jerseys, and found that even they were too short for my liking. Not to mention way too form fitting! In this post, I review a cycling jersey and cycling shorts for plus sized cyclists that I found.<\/p>\n<p>As I am not a tiny woman, it can be difficult to find attractive cycling gear. Happily, there are now some manufacturers catering to plus-sized athletes. For a start, a search on the term <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2LSAbQQ\"><strong>Plus Sized Athletic Wear on Amazon brings up a wide range of results.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The overwhelming response to Joe\u2019s blog post, <a href=\"http:\/\/ow.ly\/lhgO309Uvlf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u201cA Guide for Fat Cyclists,\u201d<\/a> inspired me to once again search for large size and plus size, and <strong>stylish<\/strong>, woman\u2019s cycling clothing. Sportive Plus represents a number of high quality brands. A quick tour of the site shows a large range of sports clothing, such as <strong>running, cycling, skiing,<\/strong> and many more. They even have a <strong>new line of plus sized swim wear<\/strong>. And the immediate first impression I got from the web site is that they are genuinely catering to women who look life real life women. Unlike in many sports gear shops, where the \u201cXL\u201d is about a size 10! The web site states that they supply clothing and accessories for active women sized 14 and larger. Today, Skirt Sports is one of the very few women\u2019s activewear brands that aims to <strong>celebrate today\u2019s real women<\/strong>. They make products that range from XS to XXL (sizes zero to 22). Their products include a range of <strong>high performance sports skirts<\/strong>. While they are aimed primarily at runners, many of the skirts have shorts built in, and would work equally well for cycling as well.<\/p>\n<p>The good people at <strong>Sportive Plus<\/strong> sent me a Conviction Cycling Jersey and Terry Cycling Shorts to review. According to the website, 70% of their brands are manufactured in North America. The jersey fits nicely, reaching to my hips in front and then extending over my butt in the back. Nice to know that I can lean over my handlebars without the top riding up my back. The jersey has three generous pockets in back, which easily held my sunglasses, keys, and cell phone. Best of all, this is not a form fitting garment, but it is also not baggy. The jersey skims over your body without binding at any point. The waistband is wider and there is a non-elasticized section in the center-front of the shorts to provide even more comfort. I had given up on cycling shorts, favoring skorts instead.
