It might be fine if you are young and fit. But if you have any kind of insulin resistance, eating often is just going to make things worse. You don&#8217;t need to be pumping insulin into your blood every two hours. If you carry any extra weight and are worried that you might be insulin resistant, I would suggest you ignore this one. Although it\u2019s definitely not a low-carb Atkins kind of diet. She suggests: carbs \u2013 50%; fats \u2013 30%; protein \u2013 20%.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> In my own experience, if you usually have a lot of problems losing weight, try taking the carbs lower than that. As in, way lower. Personally, as a mature woman with insulin resistance, I cannot lose weight on anything more than 35% carbs. I make up the shortfall in protein and fats. And I try to get most of those carbs from vegetables and fruit.<\/p>\n<p>Also, Joe likes to get at least 30% of his calories from protein. As he is getting older, he wants to be sure that he maintains as much of his muscle mass and strength as possible. The best thing is to assess your own age and needs, and to allocate your macros accordingly. Then, think about using an app such as MyFitnessPal to track your macros and see how you are doing.<\/p>\n<h2>Rule 5 of the Top 10 Ride Your Way Lean Eating Rules: Good Fat Does NOT Make You Fat<\/h2>\n<p>Good fat does <strong>not<\/strong> make you fat! This is the single biggest MYTH that messes up people&#8217;s nutrition. Think avocados, salmon, eggs, sardines, nuts, chia seeds, flax seeds, etc. Simply sprinkling seeds on your salads is a quick and easy way to get your Omega 3&#8217;s from a natural food sauce, rather than a pill.
