Today I found even MORE parking on Hornby Street. This almost embarrassing <strong>abundance of car parking is ALL at Hornby and Dunsmuir<\/strong> \u2013 which happen to be the two separate bike routes that have caused such an outcry from business people about<strong> LACK of parking<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>I took a look at the parking garage that is directly underneath Brascia\u2019s Tailors. in the middle of the week in downtown Vancouver<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Notice the lack of cars and the big empty parking spaces \u2026 and the fact that the <strong>bike cage is crammed to capacity<\/strong>. And note that there were exactly TWICE as many bikes as cars!<\/p>\n<h3>My conclusions<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>There is actually a <strong>surplus of parking for cars<\/strong> at Hornby and Dunsmuir. This is somewhat surprising, given that one of the key complaints from business people was that they would lose parking space due to the separate bike lanes.<\/li>\n<li>The only thing that is lacking at Hornby and Dunsmuir is sufficient <strong>safe parking space for bikes<\/strong>. Perhaps one of the empty parking spots underneath Brascia\u2019s Tailors could be converted into an extra bike cage?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Did you like this post or find it useful?
